I loved the easy fill tank. A feature that is a major benefit is the visible mist The three speed settings allows the user to adjust the mist output based on what you like The designer of this product spent his or her efforts on features that are easy to use and work. Rated 1 out of 5 by Leo S from Looks Great, Does not work properly I was very interested in the top fill and no filter feature. Initially, I bought three units from Target. I set up one of the units, and it operated properly when first filled and turned on. The next day, with ample water still in the reservoir, the unit would not produce any moisture. I called Holmes customer service. They were very kind and assured me this was not a known issue. They also asked me to ensure the “stack” within the unit was “locked” in place. I then assumed the original problem was my error. Once again, I emptied and then refilled the unit, and it worked perfectly. I turned it off and then back on 30 minutes later and it worked. I was so happy I went back to Target and bought four more units to give to my family. I filled and placed three units in my home. Later that evening, I went to turn them on, but they did not work. After looking at different sites that sold this item, I started to see reviews that had the same problem as mine. The problem appears to be the seal on the removable “stack” does not seal properly, even when locked, and allows water to creep into the chamber. Once the water has penetrated the chamber, the unit will not work. After much frustration, I returned seven units to Target today and suggested that the manager not put them back out on the shelf as they will likely be returned. I wanted this to work. Very disappointed!

This quiet- running Ultrasonic humidifier releases a refreshing cool mist vapor into my home. The relief it provides to my nasal passages and eyes is truly a benefit of this unit. I like that it is filter free and will run for up to 60 hours on one tank of water making it an extremely low maintenance humidifier. I like the versatility of using the unit to either generate cool mist or warm mist depending on the air environment. Also, it removes odors from the air. There are lots of good benefits to using a humidifier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JillH2o from Easy to Use - Fill From Top! LOVE that this humidifier works well and is filled at the TOP! And this one is whisper quite with a super fine ultrasonic cool mist. There are 3 levels (low, medium & high) to control the amount of mist desired. The amount of time it runs can be set: 2 hours, 4 hours or 8 hours. Or it will also shut off automatically if you choose not to set a time interval. If desired, a variety of colors can be selected to glow from the bottom of the unit. Once you decipher the instructions, it’s also easy to take apart to clean and dry. To clean, the instructions say to line up the arrows on the inside to “lock” the mist chamber in place. And to “unlock” by moving the arrows apart. The arrows are down inside the reservoir and not a contrasting color, so somewhat difficult to locate. It was also necessary to reach way down inside the reservoir to grasp the mist chamber by its base and twist Counterclockwise to unlock; Clockwise to lock. Like all portable room humidifiers, gravity will tend to pull the mist downward. So it’s important to place the humidifier where the moisture cannot damage floors, furniture, or walls. I usually use a waterproof tablecloth (or a plastic tray) underneath the unit and place a towel below on the floor to catch moisture. I’ve owned a number of humidifiers and all of them have had a reservoir that had to be pulled off, turned upside down to fill, then flipped over (quickly) to reconnect to the base. What a drippy mess and pain in the neck! With the Holmes Top Fill Humidifier, I fill a pitcher of water in my bathroom and take it to the humidifier, and simply pour to the max-fill water line and we’re all set. Easy Peasy to fill and use room humidifier! I really like and recommend this humidifier.

Rated 2 out of 5 by lovebxny from Unclear & Complicated Instructions The instructions provided with this humidifier made it very difficult to maneuver, in that the instructions didn't seem to 100% match the product in my hands. Certain pieces that were supposed to come apart, lock/unlock, and open for cleaning didn't line up. This made cleaning the humidifier quite exhaustive. All the parts are plastic so nothing fancy there, the bonus was a filter is not required. Overall I felt that it was too much work for the benefit the humidifier is supposed to provide.

Rated 3 out of 5 by mwj126 from Did not work from the start!! I bought this for my daughter's bedroom a few days ago. She first turned it on tonight and it is producing NO VISIBLE MIST! The motor is running and the lights turn on, so I am not sure what it happening. I made sure the arrows are aligned, and still no mist. I am not sure if this is a recurring issue, as I am reading others saying the same thing recently. HELP!!!

It is easy to fill with water. It has running time options or you can just let it go knowing it will kick off when the water is gone. I love the nightlight feature too. It's an overall great humidifier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shelzie49203 from Beautifully designed I've had one of the old cool mist humidifiers for years, and lived with the god awful mess of the filters, and the noise, and the so-so performance in my master bedroom. I can't say how pleased and surprised I am at this product's performance thus far. It is very nearly silent, requires no filters (seriously, are those things disgusting and annoying to replace or what?), and I could tell the difference almost immediately. The water tank is plenty for a full 24 hours of run time and refilling it is super easy. Highly recommend this product.

1. Be sure the unit is OFF and is disconnected from the electrical outlet.
2. Carry the humidifier reservoir next to the sink.
3. Remove the tank lid, chimney and mist chamber. Rotate the mist chamber to the unlocked position and lift up to remove.
4. Clean all surfaces with a soft brush. Remove the chimney and mist chamber to gently scrub the area around the transducer and float with a soft brush. Remove the scale by wiping the entire humidifier with a cloth dampened with undiluted white vinegar.
5. Rinse clean with warm water to remove cleaning solution before disinfecting the tank.
