Love it, except...
This purifier is awesome! It really works! We have a bunny who sheds and he’s a little stinky and it helps ALOT! My only feedback is that I have to keep buying new filters and they’re expensive. Also, where
can I get a new replacement for this black foam-like piece? Photo attached. Can’t find that part anywhere. And why does it have a lot of black particle dust around/on it? I’m assuming it’s too full and is pushing the dust out? It really does work well though. You just have to keep up with changing out the filters.

So far so good...
I purchased this air purifier last month(June) and I can see the accumulation thru the view window. I especially like the quiet sleep mode, which I run continously thru out the day...due to several illnesses I've been researching purifiers for some time. I'm so satisfied thus far I don't know why I didnt purchase sooner, however I'm so glad I did. My only complaint would be the dials to set the change date for the filters slide and the months get moved...but I'm looking forward to years of enjoyment in the preformance of this product.

Good product, but too loud
I like the shape and look of this air purifier. I doesn't take up a lot of room. I bought this one to put in the room where my dogs stay during the day and it appears to be doing a good job helping with dog dander, dust and a little with the dog smell. I don't like how loud it is. I have other air purifiers from Holmes that are more quiet and do a better job with the quality of air in regards to smells.

Excellent Product
I have 3 and have them for the longest time around 3 + years. I feel safe having them on 24/7. My breathing is excellent and feel safe against bacterias and allergens around the house!!! I just need to find a way how I can automatically order my filters on time. Although I know that they are always available at the store(Target)

Poorly designed switch, had two break already
I really liked this unit but the switch fried, melted inside. Whole house smelled like burned electronics board.
But I had liked the unit and had extra filters and wanted to buy the same thing again. Bad move. Second one lasted about a 1.5 year, then also melted.
Is there a way to buy spare parts, In could probably just repair the switch. But if I have to buy an entire new unit, I'm going to someone else.

Purifier Backfired on 2nd Yr
I bought the aer1 Tower Filter and have been consistently changing the filters (on time, every time) since June 2019. It is now January 2021, and two days ago the purifier backfired and began spewing out all the dirty air particles back into my apartment. I have black particles all over my apartment walls now especially in the roof corners. When it first started backfiring, I thought it would be solved by changing the filters into the brand new filters I was saving for the actual time I needed to change them, come March 2021. That night, while I had the new filters in it spewed so much black dust particles in the air that I woke up the next morning with a stuffed nose and when I would blow my nose, black particles would come out. I don't know what happened since I am OCD about my home, and deep clean and upkeep everything on a very stringent and consistent basis. I never use a set of filters more than 3-4 months and I hand wash the black foam portion in the filter once every six months. I have no idea how this happened and now I'll be spending the first weekend of the new year literally cleaning my walls, floors, bathroom, bed sheets, electronics and entire kitchen (as the black dust got literally on everything).

Worked fine, until it died
I got it because it has a small footprint, compared to the other BIG air filters.
But a few weeks ago, it died. It started smelling, and the control knob at the top is stuck in place and will not rotate. I suspect, that something in the switch overheated and melted the plastic.

Perfect Purifier
Had this unit over 10 years. The quality was great. The purification was great and the sound of the fan perfect sleep noise. It was our favorite air purifier. Unfortunately, the knob being plastic and like I said we had for many years broke today.

Just buy a Frost King Window Air Conditioner Filter. Amazon. Lowes, Home Depot. Filters are 15&quot; h x 24&quot; w x 3/16 thick. They are cut to fit. Cheap also.

Ionizer provides additional assistance in removing airborne particles. The ionizer is an added stage of filtration to further clean the room, it negatively charges small particles not captured by the HEPA filter as they leave the air cleaner. These tiny charged negative particles will combine with other larger positively charged particles that can then be filtered out of the air through the air cleaner. This can be used anytime you wish to. In regards to the odor coming out of your air purifier, please check the internal part of your unit if there's an element affecting the smell of your air purifier. If no element, please directly contact Holmes&reg;️ so that we can gather the details of your air purifier. Have a nice day!

The HEPA filter cannot be wet and washed in the sink, but it can be replaced. The replacement HEPA filter can be purchased on Walmart, Target, and Amazon. The other filter (carbon filter) which sits in front of the HEPA filter can definitely be washed and be reused. Have a great day!
