Description

The Holmes® Smoke Grabber Ashtray and Odor Eliminator helps to clear the air and remove smoke and odor from cigarettes and cigars. Its unique lid design with a built-in filter draws in smoke before it can be released into the air. The multi-layered filter includes activated carbon, which helps eliminate tobacco odor. Simply raise the lid to activate the unit and close it to turn the ashtray off.

I could clean it, but I want a nice new one that hasn't been melted inside from a small fire, caused by me.Ordered it with 2 spare filters. 4 stars only because it needs more motor speed for more suction. For those who have problems, the contacts to turn on the motor can get a electrical unseen corrosion that won't pass battery power, or maybe they contacts need adjusted for tighter contact. Alcohol will clean them. You may bend them out of adjustment if you are too rough with the cleaning. Battery contacts will also do the same trick with use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by sandie from bad luck with ashtrays I bought 2 of these and got home to use them. 1 worked about 2 days the other did not work right out of the box. I returned them to the store and got 2 more. Got home they worked 3 days and 1 week, had to return again. I am now on #5&6 and one worked about a week, the other 3 weeks. I closed the cover went about doing things, came back 1 hr. later, opened it and it will not work now either. Either I have extremely bad luck or this has been a defective batch. Loved them when they worked. But I am sick of returning them, and keep getting the same results. Goes through batteries like crazy also.

I purchased this ashtray, it worked for about a week, then completely stopped working despite changing the filter and replacing the batteries. I bought a second one, it worked for 3 days, same outcome. Beware, this ashtray is VERY loud and only "grabs" about half the smoke coming from a lit cigarette just sitting in one of the holders. Also, when it's time to empty the tray, don't just tip it over to dump it out - BOTH of the ashtrays I purchased did the same thing - the tray, batteries, everything fell out. You get what you pay for I guess. Definitely NOT going to try a third time. Warranty or not, I'm not going to waste my time getting a replacement every other week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shireys Shineys from Smokeless ashtray works! makes ALL THE DIFFERANCE! I absolutely love and rely on these ashtrays! Was so dissapointed when Walmart quit selling but I found them here and have used these smokeless ashtrays for at least 10 years! If they are cleaned they work a very long time. I use alcohol or jewelry cleaner, on a q-tip, to clean the metal prongs a which connect when opened. THAT is a great tip to keep yours running. Also I clean the black tray regally as well as the inside and the fan. Again, using a Q-Tip. I try to keep a good supply of filters on hand as they should be changed when cleaning the rest. The one I'm replacing today is still working but I want to get one as always to have one on hand for another smoker and for when the sad day arrives the current one dies. On average they last 9-14 months. I smoke at least a pack a day and my husband doesn't so he likes these ashtrays to!

It had a sticker on the lid with the website of where I purchased it so thought it was time to get a new one perhaps , to my surprise it was only $ 10.00 I was going to just get a new filter but reasonable price so very happy with new CLEAN SMOKELESS ashtray.... I Would recommend to anyone looking for an ashtray that does what it says as advertised . Just wish they would make an plug in adapter? Great suggestion

Rated 1 out of 5 by slickster from Bad product I purchased my first Smoke Grabber Ashtray at Wal Mart. A short time later it just quit working. Tried new batteries but no help. Took it back for exchange, but a short time later it quit working, Had to hold the tray down on the left side with your hand for it to work. Took it back for exchange. Now I am on my third one and after a week it quit working. I investigated and found that the red wire connection to the motor is not making a good connection. So now what, Wal Mart don't have any more and I am now angry. What kind of product are you producing ???????

Rated 4 out of 5 by MendyBob from Never had any problems I love my ashtray! I read some reviews of bad defective ones and just had to write. Take it back get the cash and go to another distributor and try there. Like you said, you may have gotten into a bad batch. Good Luck!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Boomerang from Dirty Dozen I know more than a dozen of these have been sold. I myself have purchased 4 with the same problem, it gets dirty. A lot of smoke dust accumulates on the inside especially the fan which can not be reached to clean, or can it. Overtime the smoke dust builds and the ashtray fan begins to slow down and then just stops working. You can find instructions over the internet about how to clean the ashtray with alcohol but not in the box it comes in. Why because if they would tell you the fix to the problem, most likely you wouldn't repurchase the product. Now if I'm wrong, please have one of your reps explain how to clean the fan. I think we as valued customers would really like your help in explaining this problem. Trust me I happen to like the product but not the problem.
