Holmes® Humidifier Filters
Wick Filter A wick filter is used in cool mist Humidifiers. The wick filter is used to draw water from the base of the humidifier, which is in turn evaporated. A fan pulls the moisture from the filter to release humidity into the air.We recommend you replace your filter every 4-6 weeks, depending on usage and hardness of water.
What Humidifiers Do and Why This Is Important • Add moisture in dry months and maintain a healthy level of humidity throughout the year. • Relieve scratchy throat and hay fever symptoms: moisture helps relieve dry skin and eyes, coughs, and scratchy throats, helping you breathe better and sleep more comfortably. • Reduce static electricity: beneficial to people, computers, and other home electronics. • Maintain your home’s interior: consistent moisture level protects wood floors, plant life and even furniture, musical instruments, paint, and wallpaper. • Increase freshness: adding humidity can increase the freshness in your home, alleviating stale “indoor air.”

always trying to make it cheaperi have a holmes humidifier that uses the hwf75cs filter and for the longest time the filters were made with a metal wire mesh around them to keep their shape.now they come with this cheap plastic mesh that seems to have a "flaking problem" for a lot of people, and they just do not stand up as well.the thickness of the "wick"also seems thinner and the top inch or so of the filter is always dry.the previous design did not have this problem.what i find i have to do is every tank fill up is to turn the filter upside down so it will "wick"water.do us all a favor and go back to the original design....thanks

An oldie but goodieWorks great! My humidifier is a pretty old model but this keeps chugging along. A great value for the price.

MODIFY YOUR FILTER MANUFACTURING PROCESS!These filters used to be available without the black mesh on them, and they lasted longer. Also the black stuff seems to flake off quite a bit. My 'time to change' reading BEGINS in the middle of the bar when the filter is NEW! ALL of Holmes filters now are constructed like this, and I have two different models, and experienced the same problem.

Filter for hwf75csI have had this humidifier for years and never used buy a couple of filters in a winter. Now what ever they have done to these, I have to change it at least every other week. Maybe they should take the black mesh off of them as that is what I have to do to get an extra week out of them. I would not recommend these to anyone and will be looking for another humidifier for the next dry season and it won't be a holmes!

HWF75CS Humidifier FilterLasted one week before Filter Check on my humidifier indicated replacement was necessary. This is even more concerning since I use filtered water and Holmes humidifier water treatment in my unit at all times and I clean it weekly. I have gotten much better service out of much less expensive knockoffs. Very disappointed in performance. Unfortunately I ordered 3.

Can't find in storesExcellent product but can't find it readily available. When I do find it usually at Wal-Mart I have to buy everything they have on the shelf because I may never find it again for the season. At the end of season it was backordered so long even the store manager gave up after 12weeks. Very frustrating but if you buy it online from Holmes its a full $ 3.oo more than at Walmart but chasing around to find it is no good either

BlackThe humidifier is NOT the problem. It's the BLACK stuff on the filters that is a pain. It flacks off and makes a mess. I found an OLD new filer at a garage sale that doesn't have the black stuff and I liked that one a lot.

Easy to purchase - fast shippingI've used the "D" filters for about seven years. Holmes has a good product, and I've learned to reverse the filters and get an extra week or two of service from them. I hope Holmes keeps this filter available for a long time!
