Rated 1 out of 5 by Dangler from Bedroom Fan Bought the 16" from target last year, only lasted about 9 months before it would accelerate then decelerate constantly all night. Bought a 16" replacement from menards, fan makes same inconsistent howling/ringing noises throughout the night. It was annoying. So we bought the 18" from menards with remote and all those howls and whistles and various other noises that shouldn't come from a fan are amplified x10 with this fan. 3 holmes fans the past year, not happy with a single 1. Very disappointed. Seems they try to save every penny on the unit instead of making a solid unit that will last. I wouldn't put another holmes fan in my house if you paid me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by joe k sr from worth the money We bought a 18” Holmes stand fan . It’s been running and working very well just as I had expected ( we have had 2 Holmes fans working every night for 25 years . ) we did have one problem with the new fan I turned it on and it was running very slow than speed up slow down speed up slow down . I sent the company a e mail telling them how disappointed I was with there fan and what it was doing . Customer service returned with a response the next day and told me that it sounded like the fan was on sleep/breeze mode . I checked and it was on sleep/breeze mode. The fan has been running like a charm . I would recommend this and any fan made by Holmes

Rated 2 out of 5 by Amanda OC from Didnt survive one summer Bought this fan at Target in August. It was powerful and really moved the air well for about a month. Now in October, the motor is fried and on the highest setting the fan works like it was on low, and it pulses like I had the breeze setting turned on, but I dont. If youre going to make a fan, at least test it to ensure it lasts an entire season of use. Meanwhile the tabletop fan I bought at Big Lots 5 years ago for $16 STILL works better than this $79 fan. This is the third Holmes fan I bought in 2 years, and my last. My garage is a Holmes fan graveyard. They dont even last 3 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KevB from This fan saved my life! I bought this fan over 4 years ago. I've never had a issue and it has always worked perfectly. We live in a safe and quiet neighborhood but last night some neighbors got into a domestic dispute. Someone pulled a gun and it went off. It went through their window and into our bedroom window. The bullet came about 2 feet from my head. It hit the metal front of the fan and then hit the hard plastic blades. The blades caused the bullet to ricochet in the opposite direction of me. There was no damage to our house at all other than window and the fan. I truly believe the metal case of the fan is what saved this from being much worse. Thank you so much for making such quality products. I'm a costumer for life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jeff in Costa Mesa from A really substantial fan Luckily I saw a review on Amazon actually about a competitor's fan that mentioned the Holmes and how much more substantial it was than the fan on Amazon. After having several fans over the years that lasted a while and ended up broken I was looking for something better so I investigated the Holmes. I was out of stock at a lot of places but I found it on the Holmes site itself and it was even on sale! The fan is definitely the best I've ever owned. The base is much sturdier than most and has some weight to it so it is well balanced. The features are great and you can control everything from the remote not just on/off and speed like many fans. At higher speeds it moves a lot of air but at the low speed is gentle and great for just keeping the air in our bedroom moving at night. Overall very satisfied. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NooneEverReallyDies from I get the last say by way of remote control! Owned for two months now, this fan is great! I actually prefer the sleep breeze setting most nights, but my boyfriend prefers otherwise. Grrr! We have not used over the first speed setting in a 10x10 bedroom. The fan is very powerful, no need to oscillate in this space or raise the speed level. Definitely would work amazing in a larger room. Remote control is a "breeze". By the time my boyfriend falls asleep, I can switch the setting to my liking without having to get out of bed. Hee hee. I win! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by CDavis64 from Replacement Purchase for worn out Holmes Fans. I bought two 18" rotating stand fans over fifteen yrs ago from the WalMart in Athens Texas. Those fans were the best fans I have ever owned. They were easy to take care of and I was able to keep them in good running order simply by blowing out dust and oiling them. Recently time and use finally caught up. I bought two more through your web site and I was happy to find them I as I was unable to find one else where. The remote control was a pleasant surprise too!!! So far, very impressed!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Strubs from I'd give it negative stars if it was an option Don't get me wrong... it works great at first but within a year you can't get the thing to stay on high and it won't move air. This is my second exact fan that I purchased from Target. Both did the same thing... around the 9-month mark they stop working on high. I use my fan every night when I sleep so I probably use my fans more than the average person but come on... it should last longer than a year I would think. Of course now I can't find my receipt and it becomes this great big hassle. I love this fan at first but I end up hating it in the end!
