The MINIMUM should be 200. Would not recommend this product, as you're just wasting your money. I wish I'd done more research before I bought one. I'd have gone with a better quality one myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dunesgirl from Had it for about 6 months now. Works great! I have three of these towers- they are about 6 months old and work great. I was reading other reviews- and yea, it makes a sound like a typical tower fan. Because I’ve always slept with a fam on in my room- the sound is very normal to me and I miss it if it’s off. It’s not “loud”, it’s just a consistent white noise. Also- it has three settings - high/Med/low and high is really the only one that I see could bother anyone- and that’s if someone ordinarily sleeps in a super-silent room ordinarily. Low and medium are really not loud at all and the ionizer doesn’t make it sound any louder. I use this in an exercise room and the air quality in there is NOTICEABLY better using the purifier. About filters- the tall tower requires two aer-1 filters. And yes, they cost money- but I have always been about to find genuine holmes replacements online on eBay or Amazon as my local Meijer doesn’t carry Holmes anymore. They run 15$-25$ a piece depending which Holmes aer1 filters you buy. And yes, it’s not cheap as I’m replacing 6 at a time! But I figure it pales in comparison to whatever is in the air (lint, dander and junk!) and also- as we are an active family with multiple pets- it makes our lived-in home more pleasant. I haven’t suffered a breakdown yet- I hope I don’t- but for the most part- these Three towers have been running nearly non stop. I do change the filters about every three months and I hand wash the carbon black pre filter probably every month as I can see the dust on it and to wash it and dry them by hanging the over the tub for an hour or two is easy! And yes- the tower filter has a pretty small footprint. It doesn’t take up much floor space at all! To me this filter is no brainer- two thumbs up!

1. Turn the air purifier off and unplug it before
cleaning.
2. The outside of the air purifier can be cleaned with a
soft, clean damp cloth.
3. The air inlet grill (reference Fig. 1) can be removed
and washed in warm soapy water (not dishwasher
safe). Dry before replacing in the unit.
4. The filtered air outlet can be cleaned of dust with a
small, soft brush.
5. If you wish to clean the inside filter chamber of the air
purifier, please only use a dry, soft cloth to wipe it down.
