To get the best performance out of your humidfier we recommend following these simple
maintenance steps. Always turn off and unplug the humidifier before cleaning or
replacing the filters.
Filter Replacement
For all humidifiers it is important to know that filter replacement time is largely
dependent on how hard the water is and how often the unit is used. The timeframes
listed below are simply guidelines.
Evaporative WickFilters (Cool Mist, Console)
Replace every 4-6 weeks or when the filter turns mostly brown. For units equipped
with
FilterCheck®, be sure to consult the indicator
for filter condition.
Ultrasonic Humidifiers produce cool, soothing mist that you can see and feel. A
water purification filter traps impurities before releasing mist into the air.
Ultrasonic Water Purification Filters
Replace every 2-3 months. The filter is designed to remove the minerals that create
"white dust" when the unit is in operation. If white dust is coming out of the humidifier,
the filter should be changed.
Console humidifiers use the same technology as an evaporative wick Cool Mist humidifier,
however these high capacity units will humidify the whole house.

Evaporative Wick Cool Mist Humidifiers use a wick filter to trap minerals and impurities
allowing a cool invisible mist to evaporate.

Warm Mist Humidifiers use a heating system to boil water and release clean mist
into the air. This type of humidifier tends to warm the room slightly. You can add
soothing menthol eucalyptus into the air with a Warm Mist humidifier.
Warm Mist Water Purification Filters
Replace every 2-3 months. The filter is designed to remove minerals in the water
that make the humidifier difficult to clean. If more minerals than normal are collecting
on the water tray and heating element, it is time to change the water purification
filter.
